Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today dedicated the Skill Development Institute, Bhubaneswar to the nation.
He also laid the foundation of the new campus of the IOCL- sponsored Institute of Chemical Technology Bhubaneswar.
The function was attended by Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik and Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri through the virtual mode.
Union Minister of state for Petroleum and natural gas Rameshwar Teli and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Earlier in the day today, the union education and skill development and entrepreneurship Minister Mr Pradhan inaugurated the lecture hall complex and students’ amenities at the IIT Bhubaneswar.
Later talking to the reporters, Mr Pradhan underlined the need of giving primacy to local aspirations including language by the higher educational institutions like the IITs.
Describing the Indian Institutes of Technology as the new temples of the 21st century India, Mr Pradhan called upon the IITs to transmit towards multidisciplinary course curricula in consonance with the vision of the new education policy.
