Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda himself has visited the Old Central Jail premises yesterday to ensure the final preparations before the inauguration of the Memorial park cum Museum. Speaking to AIR News, the Minister said that 25ft high statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda is the major attraction while 9 ft high statue of 13 other freedom fighters of tribal movement will also play an important role in preserving and promoting tribal culture and history. The half-hour-long musical documentary prepared on the life and sacrifices of Birsa Munda is a must-watch.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary today. In a tweet, Mr. Modi said that along with intensifying the freedom movement, Birsa Munda always struggled for protecting the interests of the tribal society. Mr. Modi said, his contribution to the country will always be remembered.
The Prime Minister also extended his best wishes to the people of Jharkhand on their statehood day. He wished the land of Birsa Munda, which has a historical identity with its unique culture moves forward in the journey of development.
