T20 Cricket World Cup: Australia opts to bat first against India

In the Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup, in the second practice match Australia were 73 for 4 in 12 overs against India at ICCA, Dubai, when reports last came in. Australia won the toss and chose to bat.

In Group ‘A’, the Qualifier match the Netherlands were 93 for 2 in 13 overs against Namibia, at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi, when reports last came in. Earlier Namibia won the toss and opted for the bowl. In another Group ‘A’ Qualifier Match today, Ireland will take on Sri Lanka at 7.30 p.m. at the same venue.

The Men’s T20 World Cup was earlier scheduled to be held in India but was shifted to the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) remains the host of the event.

The top four teams from the qualifiers will join India, West Indies, Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, England and New Zealand for the Super-12 stage which will begin from 23rd of this month. All India Radio will broadcast ball-by-ball commentary of the World Cup from 23rd of this month.
