India achieved the highest ever vaccination in a single day with more than 88 lakh 13 thousand vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry said, over 55 crore 47 lakh vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. The country reported 25 thousand 166 new cases in the last 24 hours which is the lowest in 154 days. With this, 46 percent of all adult Indians have received the first dose and 13 percent of all adult Indians have received both doses of vaccines.
While announcing the present phase of vaccination on 7th June this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also given a clarion call to all citizens to vaccinate themselves and encourage others who are eligible to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Health Ministry said that the record administration of vaccines showcases the trust placed by the people of India in the government in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. It said that the Centre is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of the nationwide vaccination drive. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, 15 days advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and Union Territories for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain
