Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurates several development programmes in Karnataka

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Thursday inaugurated several development projects in Davangere district of Karnataka. He inaugurated Gandhi Bhavan, Police Public Residential School and Police quarters in virtual mode from GM Institute of Technology in Davangere. He also inaugurated a high- tech library in the Institute of Technology.

Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister pointed at the efforts made by the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards providing social security to different sections impacted by the pandemic. The destitutes, migrants, Dalits and tribals, he stressed, were provided necessary assistance by the government. Mr. Shah said that the appropriate and timely decision by the Prime Minister has mitigated the impact of the pandemic in the country. May it be a mammoth vaccination drive, providing necessary infrastructure in the health sector or providing free foodgrains to the poor, the Central Government has initiated a successful programme. One thousand oxygen plants have been set up across the country to meet the growing demand for oxygen. Dwelling upon the issue of change in leadership of the state, the Home Minister said that B. S. Yediyurappa, who provided good governance in the state, had voluntarily handed over the reins to Basavaraj Bommai. The Minister later felicitated freedom fighters B. N. Shivalingaswamy, Thiruvalli Siddaramappa and Marulasiddappa during the event. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, State Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, Heavy Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani, Agriculture Minister B. C. Patil, Member of Parliament G. M. Siddeshwar among others were present on this occasion.
