Maharashtra, March 2021: Dukaan, a platform that allows merchants to start, grow and run their business online, has come forward to extend a helping hand amid the coronavirus crisis owing to which Pune, Mumbai cities are likely to be impacted by the restrictions and curfews to curtail the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic in the state of Maharashtra. Merchants registered on the Dukaan app can receive instant payments for their sales in a hassle-free manner with the newly added feature that eliminates any processing charge or fee for transactions. The feature now enables over 2.7 million merchants to collect contactless payments from their customers. With the help of Dukaan’s new online payment feature, merchants will be able to integrate their bank account and UPI ID and collect payment for their goods and services in a seamless manner.

Sahaj Havan Enterprises, Kalyan West and Dobeli : Sahaj has been running his business in distribution for frozen foods for a while. He also is a distributor for Sanskruti products which include spices, pickles etc.

In April 2020, during the lockdown, Sahaj decided to start homemade food delivery for people stuck at home, senior citizens, covid patients at home and in hospitals. He used the Dukaan app for this and still continues to sell homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner through the app. The app has increased his reach and has kept his businesses going. He plans to expand his reach and provide food to more people. While online payments can be made on the Dukaan app, the cash on delivery option has helped his business greatly, along with other microbusinesses who require cash in hand.

At least 10% of his daily orders from the Dukaan app and have been consistent since April 2020.

Bharat Mart Bazaar in Kolhapur : Sabheer of Bharat Mart Bazaar has been using the app since April 2020, and have seen the various satisfied customers to whom they deliver groceries on a regular basis. This merchant uses the Dukaan app to share the pricelist of various products available at their store and consistently receive orders on a daily basis.
