Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Dr. J. Radhakrishnan has said that 2,180 people have tested positive for Delta variant of COVID-19.
Speaking to newspersons in Chennai after inaugurating a Vaccination Camp at a government college today, he said that COVID-19 infection count has been fluctuating in 17 districts of the state. He said that a Genome Lab would be set up in Chennai shortly for testing samples.
Responding to a query, he said that students from Kerala have to produce a negative RT-PCR certificate for entering the state. Mr. Radhakrishnan asked people with suspicious infection should immediately take a COVID test and approach a doctor.
